Grant audits are a highly specialist area within the audit sector. Many grants received by organisations need to be certified and reported to funders by an independent registered auditor and the reporting frameworks can often be quite complex.

Over many years we have built up specialist knowledge and experience in providing audit and assurance reports in relation to grant returns. We currently provide this service to a large number of clients, including charities, housing associations and educational bodies and we include among our clients a number of the University of London Colleges. Our expertise in this area gives assurance to you that we fully understand the financial accountability requirements of the grant giving bodies. We also frequently provide general advice on how to interpret the financial reporting sections of grant agreements.

Our grant audit and assurance service includes:

  • Full audits of grant returns in accordance with ISA 805 and ISA 800
  • Assurance reviews in accordance with ISAE 3000 and AAF 01/10
  • Engagements to perform agreed upon procedures in accordance with ISRS 4400 and AAF 01/10

If required, we can report under tripartite terms of engagement and we have experience in providing reports in connection with grants received from a range of funders including:

  • The EU
  • Central government departments and agencies
  • Local authorities
  • Grant giving charities
